PetroGuard® PetroGuard® is a sealer used between a sea coat and contaminated pavement. It is used over crankcase oil and grease spots and hairline cracks. PetroGuard® is designed to attach and permanently bond to surfaces that have been scraped and/or cleaned of petroleum based chemical build up. ADVANTAGES: Tenaciously
bonds to most surfaces USES: As a
primer and sealer over prepared traffic surfaces contaminated by vehicle and
equipment drippings. APPLICATION: Oil and Grease Spots—Thoroughly remove by use of scraper, wire brush, torch, power washer, all surface contaminants such as build up of old paint, drive train oil and/or grease deposits from asphalt pavement to be sealed with PetroGuard®. Do not use hydrocarbon solvents to clean the surface.
Asphalt Pavement Micro-fissuring—Assure that all loose material has been removed to a sound, uncontaminated surface. Brush, roll or spray an approximate 25 mils (1.5 gallon/100 square feet), wet film thick application of the PetroGuard over the fissured area. Wait for it to turn from purple to deep purple then apply a second film of the same approximate thickness. This is necessary to achieve optimal PetroGuard® fissure blocking of expansion and contraction. Cracks wider than 1/16 of an inch should be filled with a crack sealer prior to coating with PetroGuard®. Immediately clean implements, including hoses with cool water after application. PetroGuard® may crosslink if left standing in sun exposed spray hoses. SHELF LIFE: PetroGuard® may be stored for up to 12 months. STORAGE AND HANDLING: Keep
out of reach of children. PetroGuard® is available in 5 gallon pails and 54 gallon drums. |
